Fight the "RUT"

Feeling down?

Feeling unmotivated?

Feeling stagnant?

Feeling stuck?

Are you in the proverbial rut?

You're not alone with those feelings. We naturally all go through them at certain points of our lives and in many cases it become almost a cyclical event.

Here's the thing, how do YOU fight the rut?

When speaking in the context of fitness and health, it's very easy to fall into one of these ruts and fall completely out of the routine. When the routine fails, you become unmotivated. When you become unmotivated, it's EASY to lose focus on yourself.

That's a dangerous proposition.

If you don't have the will to take care of yourself, what's next? Are you too busy to take care of yourself? Doesn't that just sound ridiculous? You work too much? You're going to burn yourself out and then what? You need to take care of yourself before you can functionally take care of the other aspects of your life with efficacy. You are number one in this equation.

Don't go down this path for too long. The longer you travel it, the harder it is to get out. Fight the rut!

How to fight it...

1. Get into a routine - Make getting to the gym regularly a high priority. It's only a small piece of your week so make the time! Get it in the calendar.

2. Utilize your support team. Make people around you know you need their help and accountability to be the best you.

3. Find others with a like mind to keep you motivated and on track.

4. Set goals! Having to work for something allows you to keep your focus on the prize. Write them down.

5. Be consistent!

Just know, everyone is susceptible to the rut. The difference is how you get out of it versus someone else. You owe it to yourself to fight your way out and get back on track. Be the best you!

Think about your previous ruts or if you're currently in a rut and find out why. Once you honestly answer the why and tell yourself, honestly, that you can get out, you will.
